Portugual 07

Early in 2007, I had the good fortune to get to Portugal for a week. I visited a number of interested people in the PWD scene, and immersed myself in the culture of the Algarve (in the south). I was lucky enough to encounter a pwd on the beach the day I decided to go swimming. It was a fantastic trip. Here are just a few of my photos. A big thanks to the wonderful people of Portugal who looked after me during my stay.

Of course, if you'd like to come with us on our next trip to Portugal, which is for portuguese water dog lovers, please let us know. This will be an educational trip to broaden the mind and perspective. Simply fill in the form below to express an interest, which in no way commits you either way. A few things worth noting:
  • We are just seeking expressions of interest
  • At this point, we would be looking at the Algarve as our base
  • People would be responsible for getting themselves to Portugal, and booking accomodation (although we can help with tips etc based on our own experience
  • It is most likely that you will need to rent a car
  • You would be responsible for your own travel insurance
  • We are yet to bed down dates, but are looking at late December (2007), or January (2008)
  • You would be expected to be fairly independent on this trip, with parts organised by us
  • We make absolutely no financial gain from this.

Books we recommend

Essential Reading!

This will fundamentally change the way you look at dogs

This is Jan's latest book. Be sure to get your hands on it!

Get this book too!

Humans need to learn how to treat dogs they way they need to be treated, and stop treating them like furry humans.

Be sure to check out Tom Lonsdale's newest book, which is essential reading! Inappropriate food, such as commercial dog food (including the "top" brand kibbles) have been linked to aggression in dogs. If you are not feeding your dog a natural diet, you need to re-evaluate your priorities immediately.
